Luke: Simon answered, “Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets.”

I know I have felt this way when I try to do things my way. However, if I feel that inner guidance, "Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets," and obey, my life is more abundant.

Sometimes, we get stuck on the Habitrail (that age-old rodent revolver), where we keep running without going anywhere. We just keep spinning the wheel, running faster and faster, going nowhere. At some point, we have to slow down, breathe, and listen.

I just found out about a retreat center somewhere in our state, where you can do your own silent retreat. You rent a cabin and stay in silence, go to Mass, eat in silence. Bless me, Father, it's been eight years since my last silent retreat.

My life is about to get crazy busy so I want to spend some good, quality time with God. I want to be able to hear Jesus say, "Let down your nets over there," and feel the Holy Spirit guide me along my path.
