Galatians: But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a disciplinarian,

I wonder if that has ever happened to you, when all of a sudden you have a realization of what is truly right with the world and you realize that you're living just as you should through God's perspective? You're not answering to any human, accountable to no one but the Divine. When you realize that you are honoring God/Spirit in everything by honoring yourself in everything, you are living in faith.

There have been many times when I've given up alcohol for months at a time. I've given up coffee for years, but there's always been something that brings me back to it. Typically, I love the taste of coffee, beer, and wine, and I've gotten really good at making Smoking Old Fashioneds and Mexican Hot Chocolate Lattes.

Part of it may be Lent, and part of it may go deeper. This time it seems permanent. I don't seem to have a taste for any of it. I've experienced the Divine again and I just don't know if those things serve me any longer. As I said, I've done this before, but there's something about this time that seems permanent.

It could be that that is what's being said in Galatians. When we experience the Divine in one way or the other, and true faith comes into our lives, we tend to take better care of ourselves, honoring our bodies by giving them only fresh foods and more nutritious drinks. There's a freedom that comes from not being beholden to the vices of alcohol and caffeine.

I'm taking it all day by day. Keeping the sugar to a minimum is helping me to stay balanced and in harmony.
