Colossians: Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

By clothing ourselves with love as God/Spirit loves us, we have to love the God/Spirit within ourselves.

Recently, I was on a spiritual retreat and met a shaman named Mitra Politi. His book, Insights, Steps to Truth, has many beautiful nuggets of beauty and well, truth. Here is one such nugget from his chapter on Self Love:

Being attentive to your need

Even the simplest ones

Will bring clarity and intimacy with yourself

Reject your needs, and you reject yourself

Reject yourself, and you will be rejected

Love yourself and those around you

And you will love in return

Love is contagious

It will kiss you back
