First Friday of Lent February 24 (2:24)

1 Peter: He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

Not only am I late in getting this out, but this is my second draft, as just as I was about to publish it, the site "ran into technical issues" and was gone. It must be God saying, "Let's try again."

Also, it looks like the format will change for the better; picture, only the verse that seems most applicable, and thoughts.

The verse from 1 Peter says it all. Christ carried our sins with him on the cross, brought them before God, and said, "Forgive them; they know not what they do."

There is nothing in our lives that can't be forgiven. There is nothing in our lives that we can't forgive. There is nowhere where we can go where God is not present if we take the time to quiet ourselves. There is nothing we experience that Christ has not experienced. He is with us in the depths of our pain, suffering, and hurt. He is with us in our joy and our laughter. We are not alone. We are surrounded by God's love, so why not surrender to it?

That knowing offers us peace. Christ's peace that He left with us. Whenever He encountered humans, He said, "Peace be with you." It is that peace that we are called to hold in our hearts.

Today, may we surrender to God's love and guard the peace of Christ.
